According to him, the election police have been placed in the 'reserve' so that they can be sent to any district of the country if there is a demand. He said, 'The manpower required in Jumla has passed. The rest have been kept in a state of readiness to be sent to other districts if there is a demand.'
There is no shortage as there are more applications than the quota in all districts of Karnali, but there is a possibility that they can be sent to districts outside Karnali. For that reason, he said, additional manpower has been placed in the alternative. 'Currently, 453 people have been placed as alternative manpower,' DSP Regmi said, 'As soon as the demand comes, those who have been placed in the alternative will be called and selected based on the roll. They have been circularized accordingly.'
Currently, there are not enough election police officers in some districts of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim as per the quota. After the center itself instructed to retain as many as possible, all those who passed the written exam have been kept as alternative manpower. 386 women and 606 men have been selected for Jumla. 96 have been selected by the Armed Police Force.
A total of 1,896 people had applied. Preparations are underway to mobilize the required manpower for the district by providing appointments on Magh 15 and training. DSP Regmi informed that they will be trained by Magh 25 and deployed in the election.
