Candidates from Ujjaya Nepal and Miteri Nepal Party enter Congress in Dolpa

A candidate from the Ujjaya Nepal Party has joined the Congress in the mountainous district of Dolpa.

Dil Bahadur Bista, who had registered his candidacy from that party, joined the Congress on Saturday. Congress candidate and Joint General Secretary Karna Bahadur Budha welcomed Bista at his home. Bista's old home is the Congress.

He had joined the then Maoist Center after the Congress did not give him a ticket in the 2079 BS local elections. The Chief Electoral Officer's Office has stated that his candidacy will remain intact even if he joins the Congress.

Junu Bhandari, who had filed her candidacy from the Miteri Nepal Party last Friday, had also pledged to support Budha by joining the Congress.

Since she too has not withdrawn her candidacy, the Chief Electoral Officer's Office has stated that her candidacy will remain intact.

For the House of Representatives election from Dolpa, Budha from the Congress, Dhan Bahadur Budha from the Nepali Communist Party, Lanka Bahadur Rokaya from the UML, Dev Singh Aidi from the National Swatantra Party, Bikash Budha from the Progressive Democratic Party, Hari Prasad Dangi from the National Prajatantra Party and independent candidate Omendra KC are in the fray.
