There are now 10 candidates in the district, including two independents.
Four candidates, including two who had filed as independent candidates, have withdrawn their candidacies after not receiving tickets from the Congress and the Nepali Communist Party.
According to Chief Election Officer Kul Prasad Dahala, independent candidates Bhupendra Jung Shahi of the Nepali Communist Party, district in-charge Jeevan Budha of the Nepali Communist Party, Dharmaraj Neupane of the Progressive Democratic Party, and Prem Singh Tiruwa of the Patriotic Society have withdrawn their candidacies.
Now, 10 candidates, including two independents, have been selected in the district. Harsha Bahadur Bam of the Nepali Congress, Nagindra Shahi of the UML, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Communist Party, Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma of the CPN-Maoist, Prakash Neupane of the National Independent Party, Nanda Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Communist Party, Surya Bahadur Shahi of the RPP, Aj Bahadur Giri of the National Janamorcha, independent candidates Asmin Bista of Nara Harinath, and Man Bahadur Tiruwa of Raskot are in the election race.
After not receiving tickets from the party, Congress leader Bhupendra Jung and central member of the Nepali Communist Party, Jeevan Budha, had filed their candidacies independently.
