Binita Kathayat has become the lone female candidate from Jumla for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21. The National Independent Party has given her a direct ticket and sent her to the election field. She is not only the lone female candidate, but also the youngest candidate. She is the lone female candidate among 10 people who have registered their nominations at the Main Election Office, Jumla.

In the history of Jumla, Vinita is the second female candidate to register her name with the Election Commission as a direct female candidate. Her candidacy is being supported by the Genji generation. Earlier, in the 2079 BS election for the House of Representatives, the CPN-Maoist Center had fielded Goma Gautam Kunwar. She was defeated by Gyan Bahadur Shahi.

This time, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has fielded Vinita as a candidate. Vinita claims that she will win the election. Vinita, who had become a proportional representation MP in the 2079 BS election, is contesting directly this time. She is contesting along with 9 male candidates. Vinita, who has experience as an MP, says that the Genji movement has proven that the next generation wants change and she has come forward to lead that generation.

'We have repeatedly spoken in parliament in favor of change and development. We raised our voices in favor of good governance and prosperity.' No hearing could be held . Now, by coming out on the streets, the genjis have made it felt that they want change . Our candidacy is to lead that,’ said Vinita .

The genjis were supporting her when she filed her nomination . ‘Jumla and the entire Karnali have the same language, the same suffering,’ said Vinita, ‘I have not given my candidacy to lead a place that identifies the entire geography and formulates and implements policies, not by keeping one person at the center. I certainly hope that the voters of Jumla will win .’

She also urged to give herself a chance this time as she has seen other parties, individuals and leaderships. She said that she has closely observed the stories and sufferings of the citizens of Jumla and wanted to go to parliament as their representative .

She alleges that Karnali has always been left behind in policies and budgets . ‘While in parliament, we kept raising our voices to make laws favorable to a backward region like Karnali. We kept warning them saying that we wanted equality, not respect,’ said Vinita. ‘The arrogance of the majority did not listen. This time, send it to parliament with a majority. The youth government that will be formed after that will make laws favorable to Karnali. And the discrimination between Karnali and Sugam areas will end.’

In the last election, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had received 900 votes in Jumla on the proportional representation side. Vinita is confident that her courage and plan will be appreciated this time. She has been active in the door-to-door campaign since she registered her nomination. When she first entered parliament, she wore Khas attire. She introduced herself as an MP who repeatedly warned by speaking Khas language.
