There have been zero Dalit candidates for the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21 in the Himalayan district of Dolpa.

Eight political parties and one independent candidate registered their nominations at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Tuesday, and there were no Dalit candidates.

Out of a total of nine candidates, there were zero Dalit candidates and one female candidate, informed Chief Electoral Officer Damodar Poudel. According to him, there are eight men among those who filed their candidacies, while Junu Bhandari has been registered as a female candidate from the Miteri Nepal Party.

In Dolpa, which has the only House of Representatives constituency, Dhan Bahadur Budha from the Nepali Communist Party, Lanka Bahadur Rokaya from the CPN-UML, Karna Bahadur Budha from the Nepali Congress, and Dil Bahadur Bista from the Ujjaya Nepal Party have registered their candidacies.

Similarly, Bikash Budha from the Progressive Democratic Party, Dev Singh Aidy from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Hari Prasad Dangi from the RPP, and Omendra Bahadur KC from the Independent have registered their candidacies.
