A husband has murdered his wife in Rukum West. Police have stated that 74-year-old Ganesh Bahadur Kami of Triveni Rural Municipality-1 murdered his 65-year-old wife Pampha.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Ganesh Bahadur had killed his wife by hitting her head and hand with a hammer due to a family dispute, said Police Inspector Hari Prasad Pun, Information Officer at the District Police Office.
Pampha died on the way to Nepalgunj for treatment in her injured condition, police said. The family brought her to the District Hospital in Salle for treatment at around 4:30 pm on Friday and she was sent to Nepalgunj for further treatment on Friday evening, but she died on the way at around 8 pm.
Police said that Ganesh, who was involved in the murder, has been arrested and further investigation into the incident has been launched, and Pampha's body has been kept at the District Hospital in Salle for post-mortem.
