To make the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) dignified, Raskot Municipality has recommended to the District Examination Committee to operate the examination centers on a cyclical system from this year.
In Raskot, which has four secondary schools, SEE centers were previously only located at Badimalika Secondary School, Syuna, and Motiram Secondary School, Shipkhana, but it has been decided to operate them on a rotating system from this year, said Mayor Dharmaraj Shahi.
The municipality office has stated that this decision was made by giving the right to conduct examinations to schools that have not been given the authority in accordance with the spirit of federalism and making them responsible. He informed that the examination centers can be operated easily as furniture, drinking water, toilets, and fences have been arranged to operate them in all four secondary schools in Raskot.
Raskot Municipality has decided to operate examination centers in Kalashilla Secondary School, Gorkhali Village, and Janajagruti Secondary School, Phukot, instead of Badimalika Secondary School and Motiram Secondary School, where examination centers were previously operated, said Education, Youth and Sports Branch Chief Khemraj Shahi.
According to him, in 2082, students from Badimalika and Kalashilla Secondary Schools will take the exam at Janajagruti Secondary School and students from Janajagruti and Motiram Secondary Schools will take the exam at Kalashilla Secondary School. In 2083, students from Janajagruti and Motiram Secondary Schools will take the exam at Badimalika Secondary School and students from Badimalika and Kalashilla Secondary Schools in Motiram.
The parents of Badimalika Secondary School have opposed the decision to move the exam center to another place. Parent Bimal Shahi said that moving the exam center of the district's oldest secondary school to another place is unacceptable. He accused Mayor Dharmaraj Shahi and Deputy Mayor Maniraj Baral of conspiring to conduct exams in their village schools using a cyclical system.
Raskot Municipality has been conducting additional classes with residential facilities in all 4 secondary schools to make SEE dignified and improve results. There are 307 students from Raskot Municipality who will take the SEE this year.
As per the SEE center determination criteria, the physical infrastructure including furniture, drinking water, and fences should be provided, all schools in Raskot Municipality will meet the criteria, so the center will be determined as per the recommendation of the municipality, said Harsha Prasad Chaulagain, head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Kalikot. According to him, there are 3,720 candidates from Kalikot this time, including general and technical.
