The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has nominated Naresh Bhandari of Jumla as its candidate for the upcoming election to the House of Representatives to be held on February 21.
On Saturday, NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal and co-coordinator Madhav Nepal gave the ticket to Bhandari, who is also the party's Jumla district in-charge.
Bhandari announced on social media that the party had selected him as its candidate. Initially, a meeting of provincial and central committee members available in Surkhet and Kathmandu had recommended five names. But the task force formed as per the NCP central circular had recommended Bhandari as a single candidate from Jumla. 'The party has selected me as a candidate for the upcoming elections,' Bhandari said.
Bhandari was elected a member of the Constituent Assembly in 2064 BS. After being elected a member of the Provincial Assembly from Jumla 1 (1) in 2074 BS, he became the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Karnali Province.
