Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamalal Kandel has said that the federal government has not made any preparations for the 10th National Games.
In a discussion program held in Surkhet on Tuesday with a delegation including Federal Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta, Chief Minister Kandel said that it is not enough to just fix the date of the competition and also suggested that he should prepare for it on his part.
Chief Minister Kandel said that the provincial government is ready to hold the 10th National Sports Competition in Karnali and that the government will provide full support to make the competition a success.
During the discussion, Chief Minister Kandel also expressed dissatisfaction that the federal government has not yet prepared by repeatedly fixing the date. He said, "You should come to play sports, we will provide full support from our side, but do not deceive us by repeatedly fixing the date."
Chief Minister Kandel had also questioned how the games will be played in Falgun since they have not even purchased the necessary equipment for the sports. He said, ‘Even the procurement process for the equipment required for the game has not been completed yet, how will you prepare to play the game in a month?’ Chief Minister Kandel said that the provincial government will not accept the task of inaugurating the game in Karnali and ending it.
Chief Minister Kandel also expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that the game was not held by repeatedly setting a date but leaving the responsibility to the provincial government. He said, ‘The date of the competition is being moved because of you, do not lie to the people.’
