The former Chief Administrative Officer posted to Tripura Sundari Municipality in the Himalayan district of Dolpa is set to return.
On Saturday, two days after the news was published in Ikantipur under the title 'Municipal work halted due to absence of office chief', the same Hari Bahadur Khatri, who had previously been deployed by the ministry but refused to go citing health problems, will be coming, said the mayor, Janachandra Rokaya.
Earlier, he was working as the office chief of the Commerce, Supply and Industry and Consumer Protection Office, Banke. The municipality office was left without a chief after the transfer of the then Chief Administrative Officer Nokhiram Wali in December last year. The ministry had deployed Khatri sometime after he was transferred. However, Khatri had not reached his work area in Dolpa even after almost a month.
Although Khatri had refused to go due to his health and family problems, he said that he was ready to go to the place assigned by the ministry after receiving calls from various agencies. He said that since Maghe Sankranti has not yet come, he is preparing to go immediately.
Due to the absence of the office chief for a long time, financial activities including plan agreements, salary and allowance disbursement of teachers and employees were stopped . Along with this, the provision of essential medicines in the municipality is also going to be facilitated . Mayor Rokaya said that medicines for one month were received on Monday .
Medicines could not be purchased due to the absence of the Chief Administrative Officer in the municipality and now that the boss is sure to come, the mayor also said that sufficient medicines will be purchased as soon as the boss arrives .
'The news had a good impact,' said Thaneshwor Paneru, head of the health branch, 'We heard two pieces of good news within two days of the news being published .' He said that a request has also been made to the Health Materials Management Office of the Karnali Province Government for additional medicine management .
