A 17-day festival to promote local products has begun in Srinagar, the district's main market.

The Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Tourism, Industry, Trade and Cultural Festival, organized with the aim of promoting locally produced goods, tourism, culture and trade, began on Friday.

This is the second edition of the festival being organized by the Salyan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The festival was inaugurated by Karnali Province Chief Yagya Raj Joshi.

The festival has also been supported by local levels in the district. Birendra Shrestha, President of the Salyan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the festival will last for 17 days. He said that the festival is being organized to promote locally produced goods.

According to him, 141 stalls have been set up for various business purposes in the festival. He said that security arrangements have been tightened this time after a fire broke out at the festival venue last year and the materials kept for sale were burnt.
