A meeting of Karnali Province leaders of UML and Congress has been held to ensure victory for Nepali Congress candidate Lalit Jung Shahi on the other side and CPN-UML candidate Meena Singh Rakhal on the women's side in the National Assembly elections to be held on Magh 11. Their meeting was held on Wednesday, immediately after the registration of candidatures in the National Assembly elections.

The meeting has decided to jointly seek votes from provincial assembly members, municipal mayors, deputy mayors, as well as rural municipality chairmen and vice-chairmen.

UML provincial chair Gulab Jung Shah, vice-chairman Tekraj Pachai, secretary Dhruv Kumar Shahi and deputy secretary Rabindra Raj Sharma were present in the meeting. Similarly, Congress chair Lalit Jung Shahi and general secretaries Krishna Bahadur Rokaya and Niranjan KC were present on behalf of the Congress.
