Man arrested after three years on the run after killing wife

A man from Jajarkot who was on the run after murdering his wife has been arrested by the local police after three years.

Police have informed that Bhadra Bahadur Sunar of Chhedagar Municipality-13, Pipaltada, was arrested last Sunday and produced in court on Monday.

According to District Police Chief DSP Basanta Sharma, Bhadra Bahadur had attacked his 34-year-old wife Pansara Sunar with an axe on Mansir 10, 2079 BS and was absconding.

‘After that, the plainclothes police, along with the use of technology, were searching for him based on a special tip-off that he was hiding in his own village and were able to arrest him from Chhedagar-13, Pipaltada,’ he said.

The accused Bhadra Bahadur was remanded for 7 days by the Jajarkot District Court on Monday and kept in the office’s detention cell and further investigation is underway, DSP Sharma said.
