Basic first aid skills have been taught to young people from the Raute community who have migrated to Lamna in Lekbensi Municipality, Surkhet.

With the financial support of SOSEC Nepal, which has been working in the community through the Raute project, a three-day training has been started for 15 Raute youth. The training will be conducted by health workers from the Red Cross branch, Surkhet, through practical exercises. After the training, the Raute youth are expected to be able to provide emergency treatment in the community. 

Lately, the Rautes have started paying more attention to medical treatment methods. SOSEC Nepal Executive Director Hirasing Thapa said that the Rautes have started paying more attention to modern treatment than traditional home remedies. They have a population of 133. Social Development Minister Ghanashyam Bhandari said that it is everyone's responsibility to protect the Raute community, which is known as the identity of Karnali Province. He said that the Raute policy will be made public soon. 

Similarly, Top Bahadur BC, Chairman of Gurans Rural Municipality of Dailekh, said that efforts are being made to modernize the Raute community by keeping its identity intact. He said that efforts are being made to grant citizenship to the Rautes from Gurans Rural Municipality.
