The jeep met with an accident at the bend of the Aladuna River in Chhayanath Municipality-7, just before the Pina Police Post.
An army officer has died in an accident involving a Bolero jeep in Mugu. The jeep, which was carrying soldiers from Hanuman Dhwaj Gulma Hutu Rara to Bhulbhule, met with an accident while returning home.
According to Mugu Chief District Officer Khadananda Khatri, the deceased has been identified as Hari Singh Aidi, a driver of Hanuman Dhwaj Gulma. The driver, Aidi, whose permanent address is Bagadi, Patan-4, Baitadi, was declared dead by Mugu Hospital at 1:30 am.
Bolero No. 1 Jha 1039 met with an accident at the Aladuna River bend in front of the Pina Police Post in Rara Chhayanath Municipality-7. As soon as the news of the accident was received at 7:07 pm on Sunday, a team of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police reached the spot and rescued him. The Bolero fell 200 meters off the road. Chief District Officer Khatri said that although the injured driver was brought to Mugu Hospital at 10 pm, he could not be saved.
The cause of the accident has not been ascertained. However, locals have said that many accidents occur at that bend. Chief District Officer Khatri informed that preparations are being made for the post-mortem of the deceased Aidi.
