830 students participate in Chhatreshwari's Running Shield

830 students from 9 schools have participated in the President's Cup Running Shield competition that began on Monday in Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality.

The Running Shield competition, which started at the playground of Sharada Secondary School Shankhamul, will last for four days.

Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality Chairman Oz Bahadur Budhathoki said that students will be selected for the eighth President's Running Shield competition from this competition. The competition includes more than a dozen sports including volleyball, badminton, athletics, and martial arts, he said. 

According to him, 716 people will compete in volleyball, athletics, martial arts, and kabaddi for the selection, and more than 100 people will compete in men's volleyball, women's chair race, and single folk song.

The competition was inaugurated by Suresh Adhikari, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment of the Karnali Province Government.
