There has been dissatisfaction in the Dolpa Congress after the names of candidates who are not from the district were included in the Congress' proportional closed list.

The Congress had recommended three candidates for the proportional representation from the Himalayan district of Dolpa.

The names of Tanka Prasad Upadhyay, the party's former district president and founding leader of Dolpa Congress, were recommended from Khas Arya, and Jayakumari Shahi and Ramadevi Neupane from the women's side.

However, the district leaders and workers were surprised after the name of another candidate was included in the closed list submitted by the Congress central committee to the Election Commission, leaving the name of the candidate recommended by the district.

Dissatisfaction has arisen in the Dolpa Congress after the name of Goma KC, who is not even a resident of the district, was included in the closed list despite the name recommended by the district working committee.

'The district party had recommended three names as proportional representation candidates. However, when the names came, the name of a person who was not in the district came up,' Congress youth leader Jayas Upadhyay said, 'KC, who was on the commission's closed list, is not from Dolpa. His home address is not even known. When asked at the center, the answer was that it was a typo.'

He said that the center was arbitrarily recommending candidates, ignoring the sacrifices of the founding leadership in the district.

With the names of candidates who were not known in the district being made public in the closed list submitted to the Election Commission, Dolpa Congress leaders have expressed their dissatisfaction through various social media platforms.
