The proportional list of members of the House of Representatives submitted by the UML to the Election Commission includes six candidates from Karnali. Proportional candidates have been selected from five districts of Karnali, including former Karnali Province in-charge Gorakh Bahadur Bogati. Out of these, two have been selected from Kalikot.

Bogati, a permanent resident of Humla, has been recommended from the Khas Arya quota. Bogati is a member of the House of Representatives in 2056 BS and was defeated in the House of Representatives in 2048 BS, 2051 BS and 2064 BS.

Similarly, Balaram Sharma of Surkhet and Lal Bahadur Mahatara of Jajarkot have also been included in the closed list. Sharma was elected mayor of Birendranagar Municipality in 2054 BS, while Mahatara is a former mayor of Chhedagar Municipality.

Similarly, Durga Bahadur Shahi and Yasuda Kumari Baral from Kalikot and Sonam Tshiring Lama from Mugu have also been made proportional candidates. Lama has been included in the list from the indigenous/tribal and Baral Ampang quotas, according to the UML.

According to UML Provincial Committee Vice-Chairman Tekraj Pachai, about three dozen names of aspirants from all districts of Karnali were recommended for proportional representation.
