Jumla Multiple Campus has begun preparations to add faculties at the undergraduate level to prevent students from being forced to go out of the district to study different subjects.
Jumla Campus, which is teaching the Faculty of Education, has planned to run LLB in the Faculty of Law, BIHM and BTTM in the Faculty of Management, and Mass Communication and Social Work in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Currently, the Faculty of Education is being taught in this campus. ‘Every year, hundreds of students are forced to go outside the district for undergraduate and postgraduate studies,’ said Campus Chief Prakash Chandra Khatri, ‘The process of educational strengthening has been taken forward by adding new faculties.’
For this, the campus has discussed with local level people’s representatives, education sector leaders, campus administration and stakeholders. ‘Established in 2030 BS, this campus is known as the backbone of higher education in the district,’ said Campus Chief Khatri, ‘Now, work is being done to expand the faculty so that students can study the subject of their choice in their own backyard.’
Campus Chief Khatri said that the newly added faculties will also benefit students from neighboring districts. District Coordination Committee Chief Gaurinanda Acharya said that everyone's cooperation is necessary in terms of adding faculties and providing quality education. He said that the campus needs to add faculties and prepare human resources according to market demand.
Local level heads have also expressed their commitment to support the educational campaign started by the campus. Kanakasundari, Hima, Tatopani, Patarasi Rural Municipality and Chandannath Municipality said that the news that undergraduate and postgraduate studies in subjects including law will be offered in Jumla has made them enthusiastic. They expressed their commitment to support them until the end.
Laxman Bahadur Shahi, Central Vice President of the National Federation of Rural Municipalities, said that the local government is committed to the development of the educational sector.
