On November 11, NCP leader Nabin Sharma informed that the candidates were recommended based on the suggestions of leaders and cadres present in Surkhet. According to him, along with Naresh Bhandari, the names of Dal Bahadur GC, Namraj Neupane, Ammaraj Shahi and Hari Bahadur Rawal have been recommended. Although Chandrabir Tiruwa claimed the direct election, he has withdrawn his name.
Among those recommended, Bhandari is a member of the Constituent Assembly elected in 2064 BS. Bhandari, who became a member of the Karnali Provincial Assembly in 2074 BS, became the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Law. Bhandari, who is also the visionary of the Karnali Health Sciences Institute Teaching Hospital, Jumla, has been recommended as the number one candidate in the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 11. He was the district in-charge of the CPN-Maoist Center.
Similarly, Dal Bahadur GC was a central member of the Maoist Center and co-in-charge of Jumla district. Nawaraj Neupane is the district coordinator and alternate central member of the Maoist Center. He is the elected municipal president of Tatopani Rural Municipality in 2074 BS.
Ammaraj Shahi is a young leader who emerged from student politics. He was also a candidate for the Hima Rural Municipality president in 2074 BS. Shahi, who became a central member of the Maoist Center, has been included in the list of direct candidates this time.
Hari Bahadur Rawal has become the president of the Nepal National Employees' Organization. According to leader Sharma, the names of the candidates for the proportional representation have not been finalized yet. He says that preparations are being made to make recommendations on Thursday only after a decisive discussion as many have aspirations.
