The NCC training provided by the Nepal Army is attracting increasing interest among students. The National Service Corps (NSC) had started providing Seva Dal training to students from ten districts in Karnali since 2074 BS.

NCC training has been started at the school level with the aim of producing civilized, unruly and good citizens, said Dipesh Jung Shah, the head of the Northwest Division Headquarters. According to him, the students who have received Seva Dal training have launched campaigns ranging from natural disaster relief to anti-drug and human trafficking campaigns.

‘After seeing the change in the habits and behavior of NCC-trained students, the demand for this training has increased in various schools,’ he said, ‘Parents are also showing positive attitude towards Seva Dal training.’

Shanti Acharya, the training education officer of the National Seva Dal West Training School, said that 3,722 students from 110 schools in ten districts of Karnali have received Seva Dal training. She said that this training, which is given in a certain number every year, aims to produce hard-working, honest and patriotic human resources who can contribute to the nation in times of disaster.

According to him, since the schools in Karnali have not been able to meet the standards of our service team, senior division training has not been conducted in Karnali. So far, only junior division training has been conducted. After 79 days of school training, a 21-day camp training is conducted at the West Tali Center.
