Congress Humla has recommended the names of three candidates for the direct election to the House of Representatives to be held on Falgun 21. The meeting also recommended candidates for the National Assembly member election to be held on Magh 11.

The meeting held on November 10 decided to select the candidates and sent them to the central office in Sanepa through the Karnali Province Working Committee, informed the party district president Mohan Bikram Singh. According to him, the names of former Chief Ministers of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Jayapati Rawal and Rita Shahi have been recommended as direct candidates.

Although the Congress had instructed not to recommend incumbent people's representatives as candidates, the party district committee, fraternal organizations, Mahasamiti members, central and province general convention representatives, former office bearers of the district working committee, people's representatives, regional working committees and all 44 ward unit committees of seven rural municipalities had insisted on recommending the name of Jeevan Bahadur Shahi. In accordance with the collective sentiment and request of the leaders and workers, the name of Shahi, who is also a member of the Karnali Province Assembly, has been recommended as a candidate.

Congress Humla recommended the names of Bal Bahadur Lama, Tara Bahadur Lama and Ramba Shahi for the proportional representation election for the House of Representatives. Chairman Singh said that inclusivity, regional balance and party-based contribution were prioritized while selecting proportional representation candidates.

Padam Bahadur Lama's name has been recommended as a single candidate for the open seat in the National Assembly. The names of Rangamati Shahi and Sabita Budha have been recommended for the women's seat.

According to party chairman Singh, the candidate selection process was carried out based on the party statute, the decision of the parliamentary board and the suggestions received from the local party structure.
