Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Jumla has prepared a curriculum for MS General Surgery. It is said that the curriculum was finalized by organizing a curriculum development seminar in Birendranagar, Surkhet, the capital of Karnali Province.

Karnali Health Sciences Academy Teaching Hospital Jumla has started teaching MS General Surgery for one seat from this time. 

Dean Dr. Double Bahadur Dhami informed on Friday that the curriculum has been prepared by organizing a seminar involving subject experts in Birendranagar, Surkhet, the capital of Karnali Province. 

According to him, Prof. Dr. Shailesh Adhikari, Prof. Dr. Suryaman Menyangbo, Dr. Ganesh Thapa, Dr. Binod Kumar Karna, Dr. Niroj Banepali were invited as external experts. Expert surgeons from Karnali Health Sciences Academy and Provincial Hospital Surkhet also participated in the seminar. Currently, students come to Karnali Health Sciences Academy to pursue health education. 

Vice Chancellor of Karnali Health Sciences Academy Teaching Hospital Jumla Dr. Pujan Kumar Rokaya responded that Karnali's health services, health education and research will reach further heights in collaboration with the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences and Karnali Province Hospital. 

Karnali has two major service provider bodies. He said that if they reach a mutual understanding, there will be no difficulty in building a prosperous Karnali as envisioned by everyone. According to him, Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital Jumla has also received additional permission to teach MD in gynecology. 

Currently, the Karnali Institute is teaching pediatrics, orthopedics, general practice, anesthesia, general surgery, gynecology, public health and pharmacy at the postgraduate level. 

Dean Double Bahadur Dhami said that the curriculum covers the necessary knowledge, skills and behavior in surgery, research and ethics. He said that this curriculum will strengthen service studies in a challenging geographical area like Karnali.
