At an interaction on democracy and human rights, rule of law and intergenerational justice organized by the Women for Human Rights, Karnali Province on Thursday in Birendranagar, she said that everyone's cooperation is necessary for the protection and promotion of human rights through policies, laws and institutional reforms.
'We should be sensitive to human rights and keep human rights at the center in whatever activities we do,' she said. 'Although it is the responsibility of the state to protect and promote human rights, every individual, civil society and household should be responsible for human rights issues. Only if we can fulfill our respective positive roles and responsibilities will we be able to help protect and promote human rights.'
She said that the suffering, injustice or discrimination of any person on the issue of rights is a challenge for the state as well, and she mentioned that more attention should be paid by all three levels of government and concerned bodies.
