Hima Rural Municipality has arranged to provide free coaching in the village during the winter vacation for students who will be appearing for the SEE exam in the upcoming Chaitra.
Acting Chief Administrative Officer Bam Bahadur Shah informed that the decision to provide free coaching has been taken to eliminate the compulsion of students to travel to the district headquarters, Khalanga, at great expense for coaching.
According to him, a meeting of the Village Education Committee, including the principals of all schools, on November 1st decided to provide coaching in the village. The meeting will establish centers at Kalika Secondary School, Badki, Jyoti Secondary School, Odi, and Rahdev Secondary School, Mofla, and free coaching will be provided.
Acting Chief Administrative Officer Shah said that instructions have been given to facilitate the schools and start coaching soon. The Village Education Committee has also given the right to select the best subject teachers from the teachers available in the schools.
Parents are also happy after the municipality arranged coaching in the village. They have been relieved from the situation of having to send them to Khalanga for coaching at an expensive cost and their children are spoiled by the hustle and bustle. There are 6 secondary schools in Hima Rural Municipality. Two centers have been designated for SEE across the municipality.
Krishna Rokaya, a local of Hima Rural Municipality, said that the municipality's decision to provide free coaching to students appearing for SEE is welcome. He said that some students have already gone far away to study coaching after Dashain-Tihar. He said, "It is difficult to conduct regular classes in the village during winter. It seems that appropriate classrooms and subject-specific teachers need to be arranged."
Rural Municipality Chairman Laxman Bahadur Shahi, who is also the chairman of the Education Committee, said that the local government is sensitive to providing quality education.
