A hostel manager here has been arrested on charges of raping a girl.
Mahendra Aryal, who is also the director of Saraswati Vidya Niketan English Boarding School located in Panchapuri Municipality-5, Surkhet, was arrested on Tuesday.
Police have taken 40-year-old Aryal into custody on charges of raping a 12-year-old girl.
District Police Spokesperson DSP Mohan Jung Budthapa said that the police received information on November 19 that a girl had been raped.
Aryal was absconding when the police went to search for him. DSP Budthapa said that he was taken into custody from a place called Bachkanda while he was hiding. Police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
