Work on two buildings under construction at the Salyan District Hospital has been stalled for two years due to the inability to extend the deadline.
The building has been abandoned due to the negligence of the construction business in the initial stage and the fact that the office submitted documents for an extension of the deadline after the ministry's notice in April.
After the physical infrastructure of the District Hospital Salyan, which was operating with 15 beds in 2044 BS, was insufficient to expand it to 50 beds and other services, the federal government allocated a budget of 180 million in 2077 BS. The construction of the building began in 2078 BS. The responsibility for constructing the building, which was started through a contract process, was given to Arogya Subedi JV Company.
The construction work was to be completed in 2080 BS. The deadline for the building, which was 75 percent complete, expired in 2080 BS and the work was stopped after repeated calls for an extension, resulting in millions of rupees of construction materials being wasted and some materials being stolen.
The head of the Health Service Office Salyan, Dr. Arjun Budha Magar said that the office has not been able to expand the various services it has been providing due to lack of rooms after the construction work of the building was stopped.
