Water supply office unlocked after four months

The lock on the Federal Water Supply and Sewerage Management Office in Jumla has been lifted after four months. The lock was placed by political parties and other stakeholders in the district, demanding its reinstatement after the government abolished the Federal Water Supply Office in Ashar last year.

After intense criticism and agitation, the Jumla Drinking Water Office was given the responsibility of a field office in the name of addressing the demands. Gaurinanda Acharya, the chief of the District Coordination Committee, Jumla, said that the lock was opened to make the work of the field office easier, saying that the initiative to establish a permanent office would continue.

The lock was opened because it was always locked and it was difficult for service recipients to get services. Even the parliamentarians in Jumla had put pressure on the opening of the permanent office. 'We have opened the lock for work now,' said Chief Acharya, 'Initiatives will continue to be made to re-establish the permanent office.'

Field office employee Khagendra Bhandari said that service recipients have been suffering since the office has been locked for four months. He said, 'The demand was to open the lock due to complaints from service recipients and difficulty in doing work in the office. It was opened. It was good.'

The lock of the building built for the Federal Drinking Water Office is still intact. The work of the large Dhauligad Drinking Water Project has been stalled due to the abolition of the office. Chief Acharya warned that the lockdown will not be lifted until the center makes arrangements to facilitate the work.
