First successful hernia surgery in Dolpa

Dr. Sijan Rawal, Chief of the Health Service Office, Dolpa, informed that the first successful surgery was performed after a 69-year-old resident of Kaike Rural Municipality-7 in the district suffered from a hernia and was taken to the district hospital. 

He said that despite limited resources in a remote place like Dolpa, it is a matter of joy to perform surgery for this type of problem. He said that with the bridge connecting the district hospital, new structures and the addition of necessary staff, the pressure of patients is increasing.

The team led by MDGP Dr. Bidur Tiwari, including Dr. Indrajit Pun, nurses Sabita Bohara and Rajukumari Rokaya, and anesthesia assistant Ranjit Kumar Shah, participated in the surgery.
