Police posts at local levels around the Nepal-China border in Upper Dolpa have been merged into the district headquarters. The posts were moved to the district headquarters after the extreme cold following the snowfall.

DSP Ruk Bahadur Khadka informed that seven temporary police posts in Shey-Phoksundo, Charkatangsong and Dolpabuddha rural municipalities of Upper Dolpa have been moved to the district headquarters. “Most of the posts in Upper Dolpa are temporary, that is why the accommodation facilities are not good. If there were a building suitable for permanent accommodation, the police would have stayed there for twelve months,” DSP Khadka said. He said that keeping the police in the current temporary structure would risk their lives due to cold.

The posts in Dho, Nijal, Tinje, Phoksundo and other places in Upper Dolpa have been moved
