Various settlements in Thuliveri Municipality and Shey-Phoksundo Rural Municipality of Dolpa have been connected to communication access. With the commissioning of Nepal Telecom's 4G tower with internet at Midagti Lake in Ward No. 10, half a dozen settlements including Phoksundo Trail and Yarsa Patan, which had been deprived of communication facilities for years, have been connected to communication access.

The tower, which came into operation only on Thursday, was commissioned by the Dolpa Telecommunications Office technician Nawaraj Bhattarai. According to him, with the commissioning of the tower, telephones and internet access have also been provided in the settlements of Raha, Parila, Kagni, Sangta, and Chhepka of two local levels.

Local social worker Narendra Mahat informed that about 500 households in Raha and Parila villages alone have access to communication. ‘The tower has worked well in Raha village. In Parila, only small phones work indoors. 4G internet is also not working. Hopefully, it will improve,’ Mahat said.

It is said that with the construction of the tower, it has also worked well in the She-Phoksundo National Park office and military barracks area in Suligad. Tourism entrepreneur Norbu Lama informed that the 4G tower has also worked in Chhepka, which is located within the main settlement of the Phoksundo Trail.

‘It only works on small phones indoors. Outside the house, both the phone and internet have worked well,’ Gurung said. "This is a matter of happiness for us. Now, an initiative is being taken to place a tower between Chhepka and Ranchi," he added.

With the commissioning of the tower placed at Rah Lake, half of the Phoksundo Trail has been connected to communication access, and it has also become easier for tourists and locals visiting Phoksundo Lake, according to Lama.

Not only that, but after the commissioning of the tower, communication facilities have also expanded in Bhokpa, Sagbari and other Yarsagumba Patans, said the locals of Rah.
