According to Commission spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel, with the filing of the case, investigation and legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.
A corruption case has been filed against 8 people, including the then Acting Chief Administrative Officer of Tripurasundari Municipality, Lal Prasad Pokharel.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case in a special court on Monday on charges of embezzling lakhs of rupees from the state by selecting a bidding company through an incorrect process in the road upgrade project. The commission has also filed a corruption case against Divya Nirman Sewa Pvt. Ltd. along with the aforementioned person.
In the fiscal year 2078/89, the Commission has approved the cost of Rs 83,82,998 for the upgrade of the motor road from Khadang to Lhasa in Ward No. 5 and awarded the work to the firm that had submitted the lowest bid among the firms that applied, the commission has said.
