Three people have been arrested in Surkhet with the drug brown sugar. A joint police team deployed from the District Police Office and the Narcotics Control Branch, Surkhet, has said that they have seized 15 grams and 10 milligrams of brown sugar.
Those arrested are Himal Ale, 28, a resident of Birendranagar Municipality-5 and a resident of Ward No. 8 who runs a bisanu Chautari Cafe, Saroj Dhakal, 26, a resident of Mulpani, Birendranagar Municipality-4, and Prem Gurung, 47, a resident of Birendranagar-1.
Ale was found in a suspicious condition while searching for him based on a confidential tip-off that drug dealing was taking place.
During a search of his body and the cafe he operated, 11 grams 470 milligrams of the drug brown sugar hidden in the ventilation of the hotel toilet was recovered, said DSP Mohanjung Budthapa, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Surkhet.
While investigating the incident, he said that 0.36 milligrams (drug brown sugar) was recovered from Dhakal. Based on a tip-off that a similar drug deal was taking place, the police team that went there also recovered 3 grams and 180 milligrams of drugs from Gurung's possession. Budh Thapa said that the three people have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway. The police said that they also recovered Rs 171,330 in cash and two sets of scissors from their possession.
