A 29-year-old woman has died in a fire in Shey-Phoksundo Rural Municipality-4 of Dolpa. The fire at the house of local Pemma Torche Lama killed her 29-year-old daughter, Tshiring Bhuti Lama.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ruk Bahadur Khadka informed that Chhiring was burnt to death while she was sleeping when a fire suddenly broke out in her house at night.
Chhiring was sleeping alone in the house. Her father had gone to a neighbor's house for special work, so there was a huge loss of life and property, said Pemma Wangchen Gurung, vice-chairman of the municipality. Cash, food crops, clothes, and religious texts were also destroyed in the fire.
The rural municipality has provided relief to the affected families with rice, ghee, salt, and other food items.
