Preparations are underway to reconstruct the Karnali Provincial Assembly. It has been decided to reconstruct the Provincial Assembly, which was destroyed by fire during the Gen-G movement held on Bhadra 23/24.

A meeting of the Working and Advisory Committee has been held for the reconstruction of the Provincial Assembly. The meeting chaired by Speaker Nanda Gurung has decided to reconstruct it from the regular budget of the current fiscal year. This meeting, which was held for the first time after the fire in the assembly, has decided to initially reconstruct the secretariat and the offices of party officials.

It was decided to start the reconstruction from the regular budget before the winter session of the Provincial Assembly begins on Magh 21, informed the Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Jibaraj Budhathoki.

He said that it was agreed to reconstruct the secretariat and the offices of the party officials participating in the Provincial Assembly in the first phase. He also said that if the budget is insufficient during the meeting, it has been decided to demand it from the provincial government.

It has also been decided to hold an all-party meeting in the presence of top leaders of the parties. An all-party meeting will be held in the presence of top leaders of all parties within a few days to discuss how to move forward in the coming days.

The Provincial Assembly meeting venue, secretariat, party offices, and various committee offices have been destroyed due to the arson committed by the protesters. The most damage was also done to the Provincial Assembly in Karnali during the Gen-G movement.

The chief whips and whips of the parties participating in the meeting also suggested that a temporary structure should be built within the current Provincial Assembly premises rather than elsewhere as an alternative for conducting the winter session to be held on Magh 21. Secretary Budhathoki said that there was a suggestion to conduct the upcoming winter session by creating a temporary meeting place.
