One person has died in a jeep accident in East Rolpa. Driver Thamman Roka died when a pickup jeep (Lu 2 Cha 8015) met with an accident in Dhuleodar, Sunilsmriti Rural Municipality-4, at 9:50 pm on Wednesday.
The jeep, which was traveling from Kilachaur in Lungri to Sulichur, fell about 300 meters off the road. The driver, who was injured in the accident, died during treatment, according to police.
According to Police Inspector Anil Kumar Chaudhary of the Area Police Office, Sulichur, there were four people in the jeep, including the driver, including two men, one woman and a 5/6-year-old girl. All were injured. After the rescue, the injured were taken to the Primary Health Center Sulichur for treatment. The driver died during treatment on Thursday morning, according to police.
The injured include Khim Bahadur Pun, 40, of Lungri Rural Municipality-7, Harjang, Bhavana Giri, 27, of Ward No. 4, Saldada, and Bhavana's daughter, Shanti, about 4/5 years old. All of them are being treated at the Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal. The accident site is about 4 kilometers northeast of Sulichur and about 34 kilometers east of the district headquarters, Libang.
