A house has been completely gutted in a fire caused by an electrical short circuit in Patarasi Rural Municipality of Jumla. A two-storey house was reduced to ashes in the fire at Dillichaur in Patarasi-4.
According to the District Police Office, a fire broke out at the house of local Bindaram Bik due to an electrical short circuit. The police have estimated the damage to be around Rs. 1.99 million. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Babu Regmi said that clothes, food grains, gold, cash and all other household items inside the house were destroyed in the fire. According to the police, four goats and two rabbits kept in the house also died in the fire. Bindaram said that the fire reduced the house he had built with his life's hard work to ashes. He said, "There was a house to live in. That too burned down. All the dreams woven with the house burned down."
