Salyan police have arrested two prisoners who escaped from Dang and Kaski prisons during the protests on Bhadra 10.
Milan Basnet, 22, of Gairigaun, Bagchaur Municipality-8, Salyan, who escaped from the prison in Tulsipur, Dang, during the protest, and Rom Sijali Magar, 36, of Lamidanda, Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3, Salyan, who escaped from the Kaski Prison, were arrested two days ago while hiding in their homes. Both of them were serving sentences for rape.
Salyan Police Chief DSP Hem Bahadur KC said that 52 other defendants who were involved in various criminal activities and were absconding for the past two months have also been arrested.
Two of the escapees from the prison have been handed over to the concerned office and the others have been sent to prison to serve their sentences and released on bail, DSP KC informed.
