Even though the police have banned the bursting of firecrackers during Tihar, traders have been selling and distributing them secretly.
Police have seized 68 packets of firecrackers in Salyan. The firecrackers were kept for sale at Spandan Gift and Cosmetic Shop in Srinagar, Sharda Municipality-1, which is considered the main market of the district.

The seized firecrackers have been kept at the Area Police Office, Sitalparti, and will be destroyed soon, Deputy Superintendent of Police Hem Bahadur KC informed.
Similarly, while transporting them from Salli Bazaar in Bangad Kupinde Municipality 1 to Nepalgunj for sale, Pranav KC found 48 kg of red mushrooms hidden in a Force vehicle with the number Bhe 1 Ja 3938, 9 quintals of 400 kg of pine nuts from a truck with the number S.P. 01- 001 Kha 2494, Na 7 Kha 9100 and K.P. He also informed that 21 cartons of homemade liquor (medicine) were seized, 6 from the 02-001 Kha 782 Force vehicle and 15 from various other locations.
After the seizure of the mushrooms and pine nuts, the driver and the materials were sent to the Sub-Division Forest Office, Sallibazar, to take the action forward.
