Most of the fugitives have criminal charges. The fugitive accused are involved in extortion, duty killing and killing industry, weapons and drug possession.

69 of the 88 prisoners who escaped from the prison in Rukum West have been arrested. Dinesh Prasad Thani, Chief District Officer of Rukum West, said that 16 of them have not yet returned to jail. According to him, the District Administration Office had issued a public notice on October 12 and asked him to return to prison within the 20th. He says that only 5 people have returned since then.

"All the escaped prisoners are involved in heinous crimes, due to which there is a risk of more unpleasant incidents in the society," he said, "We have intensified the search everywhere, now even those who hide, hide and shelter the prisoners will be prosecuted according to the law." Some of the fugitives from Rukum West are from Rukum East. Since there is no prison in Rukum East, they were kept in Rukum West Prison.

According to Chief District Officer of Jumla, Kedarnath Sharma, all the escaped prisoners are being prosecuted and serving their sentences in the industry of forced labor, compulsory killing and killing. According to him, 5 from Mugu, 3 from Jumla and 2 from Humla have not come in contact with the prison.

"Since there are no prisons in Humla and Mugu, the prisoners who have to pay their sentences are brought here," he said, "We issued a public notice on the 19th after 11 people did not come in contact. Since then, the police have arrested one person who came in contact, and we have intensified the search for others."
