Residents of Jumla, who were harassed by buying expensive rice in the market, bought cheap rice from a reasonable price shop opened by Food Management and Trade Company Limited, Jumla this year during Dasain.

About 700 quintals of rice have been sold from Supath Price Shops that have been opened since last August 30th, with the Food Management Office. 'The target was to sell 1,100 quintals of rice in the fair price shop opened by the 10th of October,' said Shriram Thakur, the information officer of the office, '700 quintals of rice have gone within two weeks.' The Food Management Office has kept the data that rice is being taken intermittently from Sinja, Kankasundari, Tila and Hima rural areas. 

'A maximum of 90 quintals of rice is being sold daily,' Information Officer Thakur said, 'The attraction of consumers has increased because they are selling cheaper and quality rice than the market.' Tasty and cheap too . I came to get it because it is easily available.'' She said that the poor would be relieved if this reasonably priced rice lasted not only until Dasain Tihar but for the whole twelve months.

This year, a quota of 5,000 quintals of rice has been set for Jumla. Of which 2,500 quintals of rice have arrived. Other rice is continuously coming. 'There will be no shortage of rice this time,' Information Officer Thakur said, 'Consumers can buy rice with confidence.' 500 quintals of rice have been set aside for the calamity alone.

The food arrangement office has given a discount of Rs 5 per kg on the price that was being sold earlier. Aruva coarse rice is selling at 1,425 rupees per bag of 25 kg, FR Arua coarse rice is 1,425 rupees, Aruwa medium rice is 1,500 rupees, FR Aruwa Sona Mansuli is 1,500 rupees, steam cumin fine rice is 2,125 rupees and FR steam cumin fine rice is selling at 2,125 rupees.
