The services of 12 ward offices of Birendranagar, which were closed after the arson of the ward offices during the Gen-G movement, have started. 12 days after the fire, service flow was started from the municipal office and the district coordination committee.

Chief Administrative Officer Lakshmi Prasad Baskota said that after all the rooms, documents, furniture, computers and electronic materials of the ward office were destroyed and stolen due to fire and vandalism, service flow was started from the district coordination committee of the municipality and municipal premises.

According to him, 7 ward offices namely 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 and 11 of the municipality have been completely destroyed due to fire, while 1, 7, 8, 9 and 12 wards have been partially damaged. Because of this, it was not possible to provide immediate service from the ward office.

Mayor Mohanmaya Dhakal said that the technical team is discussing whether the damaged structures can be restored and put back into use or not. According to him, the work of some branches of the municipality has also been disrupted due to vandalism.
