Two people were injured in a bear attack on Wednesday morning in the forest area of ​​Hima rural municipality-5 Bajhgad in Jumla.

30-year-old Harichandra Rokaya of the same village was seriously injured in the attack while grazing cattle. After first aid, he was taken to Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, Jumla for further treatment. 

Similarly, 35-year-old Ganesh Rokaya was slightly injured. He is being treated at a local health facility. According to the local Dalveer Rokaya, during the attack, the bear also killed the cows, oxen and sheep of the villagers.

'Early in the morning, when they were taken to graze, there was a sudden attack. Panic has spread in the village," he said. 

Since the village is near the forest area, the locals have drawn the attention of the concerned authorities for immediate control, saying that such incidents have been increasing in recent years.
