After the arson that occurred during the demonstration on August 24, the service flow of nearly a dozen government offices in Surkhet has stopped.

Due to the destruction of all the structures due to fire, the service flow of 8 ward offices of Birendranagar Municipality including Karnali State Assembly Secretariat, State Accounts Controller's Office along with the surveyor's office has been stopped. 

After the service delivery of Ward Offices and Napi Office has stopped, the service users have started returning empty handed. Dinesh Kumar Bhandari, officer of Napi Office Surkhet, said that all the rooms, documents, furniture, electrification, network and other materials of the office were burnt. "After the closure of office services, land acquisition work has been completely stopped  The work of land surveying, land surveying, etc. has also been stopped, he said, "As the entire structure has been destroyed, it is not possible to say when the work of the office will start." 

Demonstrators set fire to Ward No. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 office in Birendranagar municipality and completely damaged it. The chief administrative officer of Birendranagar Municipality, Lakshmi Prasad Baskota, said that although the municipal office was vandalized, the ward office was set on fire, but there was a problem in service delivery. "Most of the ward offices are destroyed, as most of the work is done based on the recommendation of the ward, there is also a problem in the service flow of the municipality," he said, "There is a problem in providing services immediately from the ward offices that were on fire, it will take at least a week to provide services in an alternative way." 

He informed that the details of the damage in all the ward offices are being collected. According to him, an initiative is being taken to operate the service by establishing a working room of the ward office within the municipality. Ward President Janak Bahadur Rawal of Birendranagar Municipality-6 said that it will take at least one month to provide services from the ward office. 

Although the parliament session is not currently in session, Madan Khadka, the legal officer of the State Assembly Secretariat, said that due to the arson, daily administrative work and meetings of the parliamentary committees have been halted. He informed that the details of the damage are being collected.
