In Surkhet, the police have arrested two people who cheated by conducting a fake marriage. The spokesperson of the district police office, DSP Mohanjung Budthapa, informed that the arrest was made after receiving a complaint of cheating the same woman by marrying her to different men on different dates.
The police took them into custody after receiving a complaint that they pretended to be father and daughter and took cash and jewelry through social media. Among those arrested are 40-year-old Gopal Kumar Vick, resident of Dailekh Sandu, Birendranagar-10, and 38-year-old Bhavisara Raskoti Magar, resident of Turmakhand-3, Acham, Birendranagar-10. The police have initiated an investigation against them for criminal gain and fraud.
It has been revealed that Vic and Magar have cheated by pretending to be parents, and the police are looking for the bride-to-be. According to District Police Spokesperson Budthapa, clothes used in weddings, gold jewelery and wedding photographs have been recovered from them.
