Three people from Salyan have gone missing in Chenagad of Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India, in a flash flood last Friday night.
In the incident, Sharad Agri, 49 years old from Bangad Kupinde Municipality-6 Kalagaon, Salyan, his son Deepak, 24 years old, and Bhim Bahadur Budha, 69 years old from Ward No. 5 Rauche, went missing.
All three of them went to Chenagad in East Bagar of Rudraprayag for wages after finishing farming on 16th July to meet the Dasain expenses.
'Since Friday, the Nepalese have reported that their father and brother have gone missing and have not been able to contact them yet,' Sharad's son Durga Agri said, 'Since I have not been able to contact them so far, I have also gone to India to search.'
Suresh Budha, the son of missing Bhim Bahadur, has also asked the locals to start searching. He is also going to India .
There was heavy rain in Chenagad on the night of August 12. The Indian media has mentioned that many houses have been damaged and eight people have gone missing due to the landslide.
District Police Office Salyan Information Officer Police Inspector Baburam Basnet said that although eight people have been reported missing in the landslide, no one has yet informed how many are missing in Salyan.
