Six people from three houses in Salyan have become sick after eating wild poisonous mushrooms.
29-year-old Devi Bohra, 77-year-old mother Harkali Rangmagar, 56-year-old Pavi Bohra of Kavra, her 15-year-old daughter Pavitra Bohra, 21-year-old son Leelaram Bohra and Pavitra Basnet of Sharda Municipality 4 Sailakamt fell ill after eating mushrooms brought from the forest.
All those who are sick are being treated at District Hospital Salyan. All those who were sick had cooked and eaten the mushrooms they brought from the forest on Wednesday afternoon. Everyone who ate mushrooms had vomiting, frequent stools, fever, stomach ache.
Buddhinath Shah, MDGP doctor and Acting Head of Health Service Office Salyan, said that the condition of all the sick has improved in District Hospital Salyan. He informed that patients who ate wild mushrooms in Salyan kept coming to the hospital for treatment.
As most of the mushrooms found in the forest are poisonous and can cause death, the district residents have been asked not to eat mushrooms.
