After two years, dialysis service has started in Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Jumla. Dialysis services were stopped due to lack of technical manpower and necessary equipment.

Jirkala of Mugu's Khatyad rural municipality-2 had her first dialysis. "There was a lack of funds. There was confusion that kidney treatment would not be available," said Biar, "I am very excited to receive the first dialysis service." She also demanded that this service be continued.

Before, I had to go to Nepalgunj, Kathmandu by paying expensive shipping charges for dialysis. The patients have said that they are feeling relief now that Jumla starts.

There was neither drug treatment nor dialysis service for kidney patients in Karnali. "Patients had to live with the disease," said local Parilal Thapa, "now there is also drug treatment." Dialysis service has also started. Now there is only a need for continuous service.'

Karnali Health Science Foundation has informed that kidney sufferers of Western Nepal including Karnali province do not have to spend expensively for dialysis. Savina Thapa, director of nursing at the institute, said that the people of Karnali will feel relief with the dialysis service.

The then Health and Population Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet inaugurated the dialysis service in Jumla on 14th August 2080. Although he inaugurated, the service could not start. Doctors say that the number of kidney patients in Karnali is high due to insufficient access to clean water.

Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor of Karnali Institute of Health Sciences. Pujkumar Rokaya said that the dialysis service will run continuously. He said, "Earlier there was no synergy between manpower, medicine and equipment." Now all the preparations have been completed and the service has started, it will not stop now.'

4 machines are ready for dialysis here. The service is being provided by bringing two machines into operation.
