The Karnali state government has started providing health care and transportation expenses to the poor and helpless Nagaki. The Ministry of Social Development of the province has implemented the program according to the announcement of providing expenses ranging from 5 to 20 thousand rupees based on the geographical distance of the service recipient.
Social Development Minister Dhanshyam Bhandari informed that the program has been implemented according to the program of providing transport expenses to orphans, helpless and poor patients. Considering the situation of those who are unable to go to the hospital for treatment due to lack of finances or who are stranded because of lack of money to return home after treatment, the government said that this work has been started from the current financial year.
He said that the program, which was started with the aim that no citizen should be deprived of health services, is expected to provide relief to the poor and remote citizens. Similarly, the ministry will also pay for funeral expenses for citizens who die during treatment and cannot perform religious rites due to lack of finances.
In order to get this amount, the related ward's recommendation or the treated hospital should recommend the orphan, helpless, destitute, patient who cannot reach the hospital or go home from the hospital due to lack of transportation expenses.
So far, two citizens have taken this service, according to the Ministry of Social Development. The Ministry has allocated a budget of 25 lakh rupees for this program.
