Cars coming from Jumla and Mugu to Surkhet were stopped after a landslide occurred at Bahani Chharegad in Khandachakra Municipality-5. Kalikot police chief Tek Bahadur Rawat said that the landslide occurred in the morning due to rain since the night.
'JCV machine has arrived from Pili to remove the landslide,' he said, 'it will open after the landslide is removed.' He says that it will take half an hour to remove the landslide. But ordinary passengers have complained that even though the dozer comes from morning, it does not come till late.
In the morning, vehicles going to Jumla were stopped at Tadi Bazar due to the road being blocked. The Karnali highway has been blocked by landslides on rainy days since the onset of rain.
